Andre Onana Drops Man United Transfer News

Manchester United have sought to boost their defences by bringing in Inter Milan goalkeeper, Andre Onana, for 47.2 million pounds including add-ons.

The 27-year-old flew to Birmingham, England on Tuesday, 18 July, for a medical examination and formally signed his new five-year contract with the club.

As he was returning to Milan Airport in Italy later the same day, Onana shared the news with the gathered reporters, saying: “The important thing is to be honest and always tell people the truth” before adding, “I am a person who always wants new challenges.”

“Playing in the [English] Premier League and for a club like United is irresistible. All parties wanted this to happen,” the Cameroonian footballer said confidently.

Once he’s joined the English club, Onana will reunite with his former Ajax manager, Erik ten Hag, who is believed to be the driving force behind the signing.

While United are yet to make the official announcement via their website, the pressure will be on for Onana to pack his bags quickly, as his new club will be taking on Lyon at Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh, Scotland today before flying to the United States of America after the game.
